Before the new Mark campaign featuring Lucy Hale
even officially comes out (that happens on Friday), I'm here to give
you a sneak peek and behind-the-scenes details on how you can copy her
cover makeup for yourself. Because I know you're going to want to. First, a couple of fun on-set shots.
Celebrity makeup artist Fiona Stiles—who happens to always give me the BEST tips for articles—
did the makeup for the campaign, including the cover shot, where Lucy wears a slight cat-eye, rose-gold eyeshadow, and glossy berry lipstick. Here's the result:
And here are the exact Mark products Fiona used, so you can copy the
look for your upcoming parties as we head into the holiday season.
1. Fiona prepped Lucy's face with Mark Got the Goods Multi-Benefit Foundation Lotion SPF 15 and swept Light Show Illuminating Face Powder across the apples of her cheeks, blending upward.
2. Apply Mark Touch & Glow Shimmer Cream Cubes All Over Face Palette in the top left cube all over the lids, blending just above the crease. Use Mark No Place to Run Longwear Eyeliner in Jet Set along the upper lash line and pull it outward into a subtle winged cat-eye. Continue to line the lower lash line from the outer corner to the middle of the eye and finish with two coats of Mark Lash All You Want High-Volume Mascara in Black.
3. Use Mark On the Dot Color Lip Color Compact in the red shade on the lips and brush That's Brilliant Face & Eye Luminizer along the bridge of the nose.

One of my life pursuits (I'm not kidding either) is finding products
that make my nonexistent, short, pale lashes look full, gorgeous,
and—this is important—not fake. I've tried false lashes and lash
extensions, but I like the idea of being able to control how much "lash"
I have on any given day, which is why mascara is ideal. I definitely have my go-to mascaras, but sometimes I want a little more oomph. Enter brush-on lash fibers.
Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes, $29:
This system includes the fibers and mascara, and it’s exclusive at QVC
until the end of the month. I like the squat brush. You can be precise
about where you put the fibers. Sometimes you just need a bit more in
the outer corners of your lashes.
I'm declaring Michelle's brown, bronze, and gold smoky eye, which she wore to last night's Killing Kennedy
premiere, the official smoky eye of Halloween 2013. It's less
predictable than black kohl but just as smoldering and mysterious,
whether you're wearing a costume or just trying to look a little out of
the ordinary for a Halloween party (and catch the eye of a certain
someone in a whole new way).
First, she's got a deep brown eyeliner along her lash line.
I think the indigo eyeliner alone would have been lovely, especially
in combination with the dress, those dazzling earrings and Debra's
beautiful red hair color. But the addition of frosty pale blue at the
inner corners and a dramatic brown cat-eye shape at the outer corners and those super-spiky lashes starts to get me all confused.
Let's go over the details of this baby.
